As a Carpenter at Nautilus Construction, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects. You'll be working closely with the Lead Carpenter to follow building plans, install framing, and finish work that meets both building codes and our high standards. This position requires a versatile set of carpentry skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality craftsmanship that lasts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow building plans and specifications to ensure all work is square, level, and plumb.
- Install framing, windows, doors, siding, exterior trim, interior finish work, and kitchen installations.
- Construct and install custom cabinetry, built-ins, and other specialized carpentry projects.
- Collaborate with the Lead Carpenter to review job schedules, receive work orders, and complete tasks on time.
- Prepare job sites, including installing floor protection, dust barriers, and ensuring furniture is covered or moved as needed.
- Manage materials on-site, ensuring accurate quantities and proper storage to prevent damage or loss.
- Identify and report any potential issues or deviations from the project plans to the Lead Carpenter.
- Work with subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of different trades on the job site.
- Clean up the job site daily and upon project completion, ensuring the site is left in pristine condition.
- Adhere to safety protocols, including wearing eye, ear, and respiratory protection, as well as steel-toe boots and fall protection.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior carpenters or apprentices.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in residential carpentry, including framing, window & door installation, siding, trim work, and more.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and how your work impacts subcontractors and the finished product.
- Ability to frame stairs, decks, and roofs, and to install kitchen cabinets, crown molding, stairs, and railings.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think on your feet and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
- Professional, customer service-oriented, and reliable.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently, following all company safety protocols.
- Physically capable of performing the duties of the job, including lifting heavy materials, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
Salary and Benefits:
